I'm so happy to share some of my favorite photos from this sweet in home newborn session from one of my past couples. They welcomed their second son and I'm so honored that they contacted me again to capture their newborn photos in their home in Brooklyn. It was so great to catch up and meet their new little guy and see how their first son has grown up to a little man. It was a wonderful morning and can't wait to watch both boys grow up! xo
One of the greatest joys of my life was becoming a mother. Being able to create life and then take care of baby will forever change any women. One of the side benefits to being a mom myself is that I have a lot more empathy for new moms and totally understand what they are going through which makes my in home newborn sessions very relaxed. We go slow with the session and take time whenever the baby needs a break, a nap, and of course, a meal.
I am so happy that I can continue to document my couples lives throughout their own journeys into parenthood. It's truly a miracle and I'm so happy to be able to offer my photography services and be part of their lives for many years to come. Here are a few favorites from my sweet couples in home newborn session in their sun drenched home. The light was perfect and their daughter is just the sweetest. Enjoy! xo
Getting up early at sunrise to head to Central Park from Brooklyn is definitely a no short trek into Manhattan but each time I arrive, I'm reminded as to why it's worth it. No one is there and you have the biggest park in New York City all to yourself. In other words, it's magical!
I am so excited to share a few of my favorite photos from Elyisha and Nadeem's sunrise engagement session in Central Park from this past Fall. The sun was slow to rise but once she was out, we had a blast taking full advantage on the Bow Bridge and in front of The Boathouse Restaurant in the middle of the park. These two are the sweetest couple and I cannot wait for their epic two-day wedding this Summer at The Park Chateau in New Jersey. Enjoy! xo
From the very minute I met Megan and Dave, I knew we were going to have the best time together. They are so in love, so giving, and caring that it was a match made in heaven. We had the best time during their engagement session and the fun continued well into their wedding day at Gurney's Star Island (formerly the Montauk Yacht Club) in Montauk, NY. The couple spent many summers out in the Hamptons and Montauk was the only place they wanted to get married.
Megan wore a breathtaking mermaid wedding dress from Monique Lhuillier and nude, crystal studded Christian Louboutin flats. Pinned to Megan's wedding bouquet was her brother's U.S. Army tag because he is on active duty servicing our country and unable to make it back to the states on leave. This was Megan's way of having him with her on her wedding day which was incredibly touching. We thank him for his service for protecting our country! Dave looked ever so handsome in his tuxedo from The Black Tux. The couple got married at St. Therese in Montauk before we were whisked away to the Montauk Lighthouse for their bridal party photos and bride and groom portraits. The weather was supposed be clear but some how the rain showed up just as we got to the Lighthouse so we powered through the rain and took as many photos as we could before returning to Gurney's Star Island Resort to take some fun bridal party photos in the iconic Turtle Room. It was a blast to have their closest friends pop open a can of their favorite beer from Montauk Brewery and cheers the happy couple!
The night was filled with so many wonderful and touching speeches, dances, and heartfelt happiness. It was a joy to photograph and document their wedding day!! I'm so honored to have been part of their love story and can't wait to see what life has in store for this amazing couple. Congratulations Newlyweds!! xo

I'm so excited Katie and Harry's engagement photos in the iconic Riverside Park on the Upper West Side in New York City. This park is very special to the happy couple as they spent lots of time together reading books in the park while they were dating before they got engaged.
Also, You've Got Mail is one of Katie's favorite movies and The 91st Street Garden is where the iconic scene at the end of the movie takes place. The public garden is incredible and was in full bloom when we visited during their engagement session. They are the sweetest couple and I cannot wait until their wedding this Summer at The Foundry in Long Island City. xo!

Well, it’s true what they say, what you put out into the world comes back to you and never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be sharing such an exciting announcement. I’m beyond thrilled to share that I’m teaching my very first class (ever) at WRKSHP workshop this November in Brooklyn!! My film lab, Indie Film Lab, is a sponsor of WRKSHP and asked me to teach an intro to film photography “mini” course during the three day workshop on November 2nd - 5th 2018 at 501 Union in Brooklyn, NY. I nearly fell off my chair when I read the message from Josh!!
I have been using Indie Film Lab to process and scan my film for the last 6+ years and so honored they asked me to speak on their behalf. Can you guys believe this? I’m SO SO excited and thrilled to be included in the impressive line up of speakers they have scheduled to educate and help photographers. It’s going to be so so amazing!! For those of you who are interested in learning how to add film to your wedding photography, what questions do you have? I’d love to hear directly from you so I can create my course based on your questions. Please leave them in the comments below or you can send me an email. I'd love to hear from you! You can still sign up and attend WRKSHP by purchasing your tickets here. You get to pick and choose which teachers you’d like to learn from and I hope to see you there. Oh, and please be sure to say hello! xo - Jainé
Rain was looming the morning of Colleen and Andrew's engagement session at Prospect Park in Brooklyn. I'm happy to say that we beat the rain (yay!) just in time and had so much fun exploring prospect park together before everyone else was awake. We visited the beautiful Prospect Park Boathouse and one of my favorite spots by the LeFrak Center at Lakeside, where all the turtles come out to sunbathe. It's adorable! Colleen and Andrew are the sweetest and so much fun to be around. I absolutely loved getting a chance to spend time with them before their wedding at Brooklyn Winery this Fall. It's going to be so romantic - I cannot wait! Here are some of my favorite images from their gorgeously green engagement session. xo
I'm so excited to share my favorite photos from Ilana and Alex's sun-drenched sunrise engagement session at the south street seaport. We had to reschedule their engagement photos a few times because it would not stop raining in New York City but we finally lucked out with the perfect weather! I met Ilana and Alex just after sunrise on the cobblestone streets at the seaport before heading over towards the water. The water was the best natural reflector creating a beautiful backlit photos which make me so excited! I'm thrilled to be photographing their wedding at The Roundhouse at Beacon this Fall. They are just the cutest and I cannot wait to witness them become husband and wife! xo
When you live in New York City, you tend to not do a lot of touristy things or visit too many famous places because well, it's always crowded. I've lived in New York all of my life (minus my few months in Hong Kong) and have never visited Top of The Rock at Rockefeller Center until Asher and David's anniversary session. Boy, was I missing out! The sweeping city views were absolutely breathtaking! When my good friend Asher asked me to photograph her 5 year wedding anniversary session with her husband David, I was completely honored.
Asher is a wedding photographer as well and it's always an honor when another photographer asks you to photograph them. We woke up with sun and visited the famous steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art before heading to Top of The Rock before it opened. There was already a line by 8 am so if you plan on visiting, get there early! Asher rented a stunning red dress (by my prompting!) from the Rent The Runway because red on film is absolutely incredible. So vibrant and magical if you ask me! Happy 5 years to Asher and David! Can't wait to see what the next 5 years have in store for you! xo - Jainé
