A Summer Wedding at Frankies 457 in Brooklyn

On a crystal clear afternoon in June, Meryl and Mike held a small, intimate wedding ceremony at Frankies 457 in Brooklyn. They exchanged their wedding vows in the private backyard garden among their closest family and friends. The couple chose to work with several Brooklyn based wedding vendors to create their perfect wedding day. Including their florists, the bride's gorgeous lace wedding dress, gold floral headpiece and even her wedding photographer (!!!).

Meryl and Mike shared their first look in lush greenery of Prospect Park. We walked along the grounds of the Prospect Park Boathouse before heading over to their wedding venue. The couple chose a mix of blush, gold and amber hues to decorate their outdoor wedding and even incorporated fresh fruit as part of their design. The Bride's bouquet was a mix of pink peonies, peach garden roses and small delicate oranges. Meryl's Uncle was their officiant, who got very emotional sharing a few cherished memories of the Bride when she was a little girl before officially making her Mike's wife. Guests were treated to cocktails and dinner outside in the warm Summer breeze under the twinkling stars of the city. I'm so excited to share a few of my favorite images from their wonderful wedding day! xo

Frankies 457 Brooklyn Wedding Photos

Weddings come in all shapes and sizes and I love being able to experience something new with each and every of my wonderful couples. When Jenn reached out to me about photographing her intimate wedding at Frankies 457 in Brooklyn, I knew I wanted to be part of their wedding day. Not only did Jenn and I hit it off immediately over the phone but Frankie's holds a special place in my heart as it's the same wedding venue I held my own wedding reception.

Prior to their ceremony, we met at Prospect Park to for Jenn and Thaddeus bridal portraits. Jenn wore a layered blush colored wedding dress and held a bouquet of mixed white flowers. In Frankies quaint backyard, the happy couple stood under the Chuppah in front of their closest family and friends and exchanged vows that would bind them has husband and wife. It was a truly beautiful ceremony that brought guests to tears and a round of applause as they celebrated with a kiss. Once it was official, they treated their guests to cocktails in the garden and dinner inside the stable under the twinkle lights of the stars. It was a magical evening filled with lots of love and laughter and I'm honored I could be there to capture their special day. Congratulations newlyweds!

Prospect Park Boathouse Brooklyn Wedding

Nkiru and Richie's Summer wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse was a truly joyous celebration! The couple planned their wedding from a far as they lived in Hong Kong prior to their wedding. So for them, and most of their guests, it was a destination wedding in Brooklyn. Nkiru looked radiant in her wedding dress adorned with applique flowers and crystal details. The bride used accents of coral (her favorite color) and cobalt blue to decorate their stunning wedding. Nkiru even designed the coral lace bridesmaids dresses which were custom made in Hong Kong. The couple shared their first look in Brooklyn Heights before heading over to St. Nicholas Church in Boerum Hill.

As an Eastern Orthodox ceremony, the couple exchanges their rings at the entrance of the church before walking down the aisle together. As they walked around the altar seven times, the couple wore handmade wedding wreaths from Richie's mother. A true family heirloom to be passed down to the next generation. After the ceremony, guest cooled off on the back patio of the boathouse sipping signature cocktails as we took portraits inside of Prospect Park. Once the speeches were wrapped, dinner was served and the cake was cut, guests danced under the moonlight and enjoyed the Summer night sky. I'm so honored I was able to photograph and capture Nkiru and Richie's gorgeous wedding day. Congratulations Newlyweds!
